In its seventh season, the annual Edmonton Bassoon Bash brings together bassoonists of all levels and ages from all across Alberta for a day of bassoon playing, teaching, and collaboration.
The main goals of the Bassoon Bash are to:
- Foster a friendly and supportive community of bassoonists in Alberta
- Increase players’ enthusiasm for their instrument
- Provide a unique platform to exchange knowledge about bassoon playing
Held at Alberta College in downtown Edmonton, you’ll have the opportunity to perform in an open-stage recital, in a masterclass led by a guest artist, and with other bassoonists in an all-bassoon chamber group. You can pick up extra reeds, music, and accessories from our corporate guest. You can have discussions with professionals and amateurs alike about everything bassoon you would ever want. Even if you haven’t figured out how to put the thing together yet (tip: you blow into the curved shiny bit) you will have a lot of fun and learn a lot at the Edmonton Bassoon Bash.
